OUR TEAM
VICTORIA FRAM
Co-Founder; Senior Advisor
In 2012, Victoria co-founded Village Capital and helped to build the organization into a global firm with four regional offices, from humble beginnings as a team of two people (and a few interns) hiking in Virginia and playing Settlers of Catan. In 2014, she spun out VilCap Investments as an affiliated investment fund, and was the fund's founding Managing Director responsible for all investment and fund activity until mid-2021.
She’s particularly passionate about working with a portfolio of founders that are well on their way to building a better, more equitable, more sustainable world -- and that reflect the diversity of talent that our future requires.
Prior to co-founding Village Capital, Victoria was on the Program Related Investments team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation while in business school; previously she was on the investment team at Metropolitan, a private equity fund-of-funds acquired by Carlyle. Before that, she worked in international development and conflict resolution as an Insight Fellow and at MatchMaker Associates, an agricultural financing fund.
Outside of work, Victoria likes to make her two kids laugh, run marathons, travel, read, and maintain a beginner's mindset while glassblowing. She’s a graduate of Stanford University & Stanford's Graduate School of Business, a Kauffman Fellow, and sits on various corporate and nonprofit boards.
MICHAEL DAVIS
Managing Director
Mike’s involvement with Village Capital started in 2014, when he was the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer and later the Chief Investment Officer of MPOWER Financing. MPOWER Financing went through the Village Capital Edtech and Fintech accelerator programs and VilCap Investments invested in the company throughout follow-on rounds from 2015 to 2018. In late 2019, Mike transitioned out of day-to-day responsibilities while retaining his board role at MPOWER and started Olive Tree Ridge where he focused on helping female- and immigrant- founders and operators access capital markets.
Mike began his career at Sapient in their Energy and Financial Services consulting practices. At Sapient, Mike advised publicly traded utility companies, asset management firms, and brokerage firms on capturing mission critical opportunities by adopting and using technology. After Sapient, Mike started the first of what would become fifteen ventures as a serial entrepreneur. His very first venture, Unique Davis Solutions, set out to make technology and associated technology services accessible to small and medium-sized businesses. After business school, Mike worked at Avon leading their Strategy and Innovation group, exploring the use of emerging technology to improve the lives of 6+ million Avon representatives.
Mike earned his MBA at INSEAD and Bachelor of Science in Computer and Electrical Engineering at Purdue University. Mike and his wife have two boys who like to chase after the family dog Pepper.
